Let me introduce myself. My name is Peter Cruiming , at your service.

I hold a State Diploma in Translation and Interpretation from the Netherlands , and specialise in engineering content and technical advertising texts.

My mind and my computer translate them from English and French into Dutch, my native language.

It has to be said that a translator who has never “got his hands dirty” is, at best, a gifted language student – what he doesn't understand, he can't really translate (properly).

In my first job with one of the world's largest air conditioning firms, I was thrown in at the deep end of the manufacturing operation for a month or six. Only after this sobering and highly instructive experience was I allowed to set finger to typewriter and actually translate.

Later I spent several years working as an account executive in industrial advertising agencies. As soon as I thought I had got the idea, I set up on my own, as a free-lancer.
